When spritz o’clock meets garden party chic.
Light, floral, and effortlessly sippable, this White Wine Elderflower Spritz is the kind of cocktail that belongs in a pretty glass, next to a bowl of olives, with your favorite playlist playing in the background.
We’re combining citrusy grapefruit, botanical gin, delicate elderflower liqueur, and crisp white wine, with a splash of basil syrup to give it just the right amount of herbaceous intrigue. This is the drink you serve when “just come by for a drink” turns into hours of lounging.

Why This Recipe Works
- Elderflower liqueur adds floral depth and elegance.
- White wine brings freshness and acidity. Opt for something crisp like Sauvignon Blanc or Albariño.
- Grapefruit juice gives it a touch of bitter citrus.
- Basil syrup adds unexpected herbaceous sweetness.
- Gin anchors it all with botanical complexity.
It’s garden-party gold, and just as easy to batch for a group as it is to shake for one.

White Wine Elderflower Spritz

- ¾ oz elderflower liqueur like St-Germain
- ½ oz basil simple syrup
- 1 oz gin
- 1.5 oz dry white wine
- Soda water to top

Instructions
- Add grapefruit juice, elderflower liqueur, basil syrup, gin, and white wine to a shaker.
- Fill with ice and shake until well chilled.

Hosting Tips & Variations
- Make it a pitcher: Multiply all ingredients except soda water by 4–6x and store in the fridge. Top individual glasses with soda water just before serving.
- Spirit swap: Try vodka instead of gin for a lighter, cleaner flavor.
- No basil syrup? Sub in honey syrup, or muddle fresh basil with the grapefruit juice and strain.
- For a zero-proof version: Use elderflower syrup, NA white wine, and a splash of grapefruit soda.
