If you think you’re not a Bloody Mary person… this truffle-spiked version might just change your mind. Savory, spicy, and full of umami depth, this cocktail is like brunch in a glass — but elevated with a hit of truffle. Whether you’re nursing a slow Sunday or impressing friends at brunch, this version brings bold flavor with a touch of luxury.

The classic Bloody Mary is already known for being savory, customizable, and packed with punchy ingredients. But adding truffle to the mix? That’s where things get fun. Truffle hot sauce and truffle salt add a rich, earthy depth that balances out the acidity of the tomato juice and the heat from horseradish. It’s briny, spicy, and just indulgent enough.

Servings 1 Bloody Mary
Ingredients
  • Truffle salt for seasoning and rim, if desired
  • A couple dashes of Worcestershire sauce
  • Juice from ½ a lemon
  • A few dashes of truffle hot sauce
  • 1 barspoon of horseradish sauce
  • A splash of olive brine
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 4 oz tomato juice
Instructions
  • Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice.
  • “Throw” the cocktail: gently pour it back and forth between shaker tins to mix without over-diluting.
  • Strain into a tall glass filled with ice.
  • Garnish with your favorite fixings — celery, pickles, olives, bacon, lemon wedges… go wild.

Ingredient Notes

  • Truffle hot sauce – A little goes a long way. It adds complexity and savory richness.
  • Horseradish – Creamy or freshly grated, this gives the drink that signature spicy zing.
  • Tomato juice – Go for high-quality juice for the best flavor. You can also use a pre-seasoned Bloody Mary mix if you’re in a pinch.
  • Vodka – Keep it clean and neutral, or try a pepper- or truffle-infused vodka for more flavor.

Tips & Variations

  • Swap vodka for tequila for a Bloody Maria.
  • Want it extra smoky? Add a splash of mezcal.
  • Skip the alcohol for a zero-proof brunch sipper — all the flavor, none of the booze.
  • Add a celery salt rim for a classic touch.

When to Serve It

This cocktail is a brunch hero and a hangover cure in one. Serve it for:

  • Lazy Sundays – Especially after a big Saturday night.
  • Brunch parties – Set up a Bloody Mary bar with toppings and let guests customize.
  • Holiday mornings – Think Christmas or New Year’s Day.
  • Any time you want a savory cocktail – It’s a great option for those who prefer bold, salty drinks over sweet ones.
Xoxo, cheers!
