Ingredients

Raspberries

Raspberries give the classic French 75 a vibrant pink color and a tart sweetness that balances the lemon. If raspberries aren’t in season when you’re in the mood for this cocktail, try blackberries or strawberries instead.

Ginger syrup

Ginger Syrup adds a spicy-sweet layer that plays beautifully with gin botanicals. Grab a high-quality ginger syrup at the store or, even better, make your own at home. It’s so easy! If you don’t have (or don’t love) ginger syrup, use a plain simple syrup or a honey syrup for more warmth.

Make your own ginger syrup

1 cup water + 1 cup sugar + 1 cup peeled and roughly chopped fresh ginger root.

Add water, sugar, and ginger to a saucepan on medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves. Simmer for 15-20 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and let the ginger steep in the syrup until in comes to room temperature (30 minutes to one hour). Strain out the ginger solids and store in the fridge for several months.

Gin

A classic London Dry works great, but feel free to experiment with something more floral like Hendrick’s or a citrus-forward gin.

Sparkling wine

Dry Brut Champagne or Prosecco depending on how sweet you want the final drink.

Want to make it zero-proof? Use a non-alcoholic gin and top with a dry NA sparkling wine.
