If you’re a fan of spicy drinks, then you’ll love the Spicy Mojito! This refreshing cocktail is a twist on the classic mojito, with the addition of spicy chile liqueur alongside mint, white rum, lime juice, simple syrup, and tonic water.
How to Make a Spicy Mojito
- Add the white rum, lime juice, simple syrup, chile liqueur, and mint leaves to a cocktail shaker.
- Gently muddle the mint to release its oils without tearing the leaves.
- Add ice and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until thoroughly chilled.
- Double strain evenly between two glasses filled with fresh ice.
- Top each glass with 4 oz soda water and gently stir to combine.
- Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
Tips for Making the Best Spicy Mojito
- Adjust the heat: The chile liqueur adds a subtle kick. Reduce to ½ oz total for a milder cocktail.
- Don’t over-muddle: Gently press the mint to release its aromatic oils without introducing bitter, grassy flavors.
- To make sure your drink stays cold, pre-chill your glasses in the freezer before adding your spicy mojito.
- Use fresh squeezed lime juice for the best results, none of that bottled stuff.
