If you want all the best flavors of fall in one cocktail, the Smoked Apple Whiskey Tonic is the drink for you. The oaky spiciness of whiskey is mellowed and sweetened with apple, as if you just went apple-picking with grandpa. We add smoke — because we can — by filling our glass with a smoked cinnamon stick. I garnish with a sprig of rosemary for the perfect fall whiskey pairing. Cheers!

Watch Me Mix It

A classic whiskey tonic is made with whiskey, tonic water, and a citrus garnish. While bourbon and Irish whiskey are popular choices, I wanted to make a whiskey tonic that tasked like fall, so I went with an apple whiskey. I also add apple juice in addition to the tonic water, but not before smoking a cinnamon stick and letting the smoke fill the glass. The finished cocktail is the perfect balance of bitter, sweet, and smoky. What more could you ask of a fall cocktail?
