I love making a Spiced Pear Syrup for the fall and the holidays because I know I’ll go through a whole bottle before New Year’s. With all the hosting I do in the fall and winter, having a few bottles already made for breakfast, dessert, and cocktails is a no-brainer. This Spiced Pear Syrup is SO GOOD, so let’s get simmering!

How to Make Pear Syrup
- To a small sauce pot over medium heat, add sliced pears, water, honey, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, sage, and ginger.
- Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Once the sugar is dissolved, simmer for 15-25 minutes or until the pears are cooked down and soft.
- Let cool completely.
- Once cooled, strain through a fine mesh sieve, squeezing out as much liquid as possible. (Save the pears for ice cream, pancakes, etc.) If the syrup is too thick to strain, add in a little water to thin it out.
- Add vanilla extract and gently stir.
- Store it in the fridge for 3-4 weeks (if it even lasts that long!)
How To Use Pear Syrup
- Mix it into the best fall cocktails ever. Try it in my Spiced Pear French 75s, Sparkling Pear Margarita, Pear Gin Sour, and Pear Whiskey Sour.
- Mix it into your overnight oats or morning oatmeal.
- Drizzle it over ice cream, waffles, and pancakes.
