Print Recipe
Ingredients
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 pear, sliced
  • 4-5 whole cloves
  • 3-4 sage leaves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2-3 slices ginger
  • 1 whole nutmeg
  • Splash vanilla extract
Instructions
  • Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir until the honey dissolves.
  • Once the honey is dissolved, simmer for 10-15 minutes or until the pears are cooked down and soft.
  • Let cool completely.
  • Once cooled, strain through a fine mesh sieve, squeezing out as much liquid as possible. If the syrup is too thick to strain, add in a little water to thin it out.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Store it in the fridge for 3-4 weeks (if it even lasts that long!)
