Grapefruit Paper Plane

Let’s talk about the Paper Plane—aka one of the best equal-parts cocktails ever created. Originally made with bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, and lemon juice, it’s a bold and balanced drink that somehow feels both vintage and modern at the same time.
But you know me—I had to put a citrusy twist on it. Instead of lemon, I’m using grapefruit juice for a softer, slightly bitter vibe that plays so well with the Amaro and Aperol. And just a pinch of sea salt? Game changer.
Whether you’re a fan of Aperol, Amaro, or bourbon (or all three!), this riff is for you. It’s refreshing, bright, and just the right amount of moody. Let’s shake one up!
Why You’ll Love This Paper Plane Riff
- Equal parts = easy to remember
- Grapefruit twist adds depth and a subtle bitterness
- Sippable but complex – the Amaro Nonino brings floral, caramel, and herbal notes
- Stunning in a coupe glass – it’s as photogenic as it is delicious

This Grapefruit Paper Plane is a little bitter, a little bright, and totally stunning. It’s the kind of drink that feels fancy but is secretly so easy to make. I love it for golden hour hangs or impressing guests with minimal effort.
