El Cuco’s Blackberry Mezcal Margarita
Cuco is a mythical ghost-like monster, equivalent to the boogeyman, found in Spain and Portugal. It’s said that this “monster” will come to the house of disobedient children at night and take them away. Seems like el cuco just needs a margarita, am I right?
Here’s how to make it:
5-6 fresh blackberries
2 thyme sprigs
3/4 oz lime juice
1/2 oz agave syrup
3/4 oz Cointreau
2 oz Mezcal
In a cocktail shaker muddle blackberries, thyme, agave and lime juice.
Add Cointreau, Mezcal, ice and shake.
Rim glass with black salt.
Double strain and garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel.
