Watch Me Mix It
Make it With Me
- Start by adding the strawberries to a blender with just enough water to get everything moving. Blend until completely smooth.
- If you prefer a smoother lemonade, pour the puree through a fine-mesh sieve to strain out the seeds before adding it to your pitcher or drink dispenser.
- Pour in the fresh lemon juice, mint syrup, and cold filtered water, then give everything a really good stir.
- Right before serving, add plenty of ice along with sliced lemons, fresh strawberries, and a handful of mint sprigs for a colorful presentation.
- Serve as is, or top each glass with sparkling water or prosecco for a bubbly twist. If you’re hosting, set out a few bottles of vodka, gin, or tequila so guests can make it their own.

Make Your Own Mint Syrup
Homemade simple syrup takes just a few minutes and is worth the extra effort. Adding mint is the easiest extra step you can think of. Combine equal parts sugar and water in a small saucepan with a generous handful of fresh mint leaves. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let it gently simmer for about a minute, then remove from the heat and allow the mint to steep for 15–20 minutes. Strain out the mint leaves, let the syrup cool completely, and store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Tips for Making the Best Strawberry Mint Lemonade
- Make ahead: Mix the strawberry puree, lemon juice, mint syrup, and water up to 24 hours ahead. Add the ice and garnishes just before serving.
- Customize each glass: Top with sparkling water for a bubbly refresher or prosecco for an easy spritz.
- Want to spike it? Set out bottles of vodka, gin, tequila, or even bourbon so everyone can build their own version.
- For a smoother drink: Straining the strawberry puree removes the seeds and gives the lemonade a more polished texture.
When to Serve It
Strawberry Mint Lemonade is the perfect batch drink when you’re hosting a party because it is naturally non-alcoholic, but you can easily add booze to the entire pitcher or have guests add a splash of alcohol to their own glasses if they want. Everyone’s happy. I’d make this pitcher for:
- 4th of July: Not only is it the right color, but it’s a refreshing, hydrating, drink that can start off non-alcoholic and get boozier as the day goes on.
- All Big Gatherings: Think backyard BBQs, large family gatherings, watching the World Cup (or any other sport) with a bunch of friends, bachelorette parties, baby showers, etc.
- Pool Parties: Duh! If you have a pool or know someone who does, a pitcher of this will make everyone happy, hydrated, and feeling fancy. We could all use something other than a seltzer on a hot day every once in a while.
