Raise your hand if you love spicy margaritas 👋🏼 How about Spicy Pineapple Margaritas made for two? Now what about a Spicy Pineapple Margarita with tequila AND mezcal?! That smoky-spicy combination really sets this pineapple margarita apart.
I made these pineapple margaritas spicy by using chile liqueur, but if you don’t have any you can omit the liqueur and use a jalapeño simple syrup instead (instructions below)!

How to Make a Spicy Pineapple Margarita
- To a cocktail shaker, add mezcal, tequila, pineapple juice, chile liqueur, orange liqueur (like Cointreau), lime juice, and agave syrup (or jalapeño simple syrup).
- Add ice and shake vigorously.
- Strain into two glasses rimmed with spicy salt and filled with ice.
- Garnish with a lime wheel and enjoy!
How to Make Jalapeño Simple Syrup
In a saucepan over medium heat, add equal parts water and granulated sugar, plus 3-4 slices of jalapeño. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Let simmer for 2-4 minutes and remove peppers. Take off the heat and let cool completely. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks. That’s it!
