How to Make a Greek Yogurt Gin Smash

- Add ice and shake.
- Double strain into a glass with ice (be patient here). You can also use a spoon to help strain.
- Garnish with mint and enjoy!
Greek Yogurt Gin Smash Ingredients
Gin
Gin has a dry, botanical flavor that really wins a lot of people over, myself included. But different brands have varying levels of botany, so use whichever one is your favorite. For this cocktail, which pairs gin and jam, I’d recommend Hendrick’s (London dry), Four Pillars (Australia), or Barr Hill (Vermont). If you don’t love gin, you could use vodka instead.
Greek Yogurt
I use the plain, whole milk Greek yogurt from Trader Joe’s, but any brand will do. I recommend using Greek yogurt because it has a thicker, creamier texture that blends well with the jam when shaken. I also recommend getting a plain, unflavored yogurt as well as one with whole milk because they tend to have less sugar than low-fat or fat-free yogurt.

Jam
I had a homemade blueberry jam on hand for this Gin Smash cocktail, but I’ve also made it with raspberry, blackberry, and strawberry jam (which I garnish with basil instead of mint). You can’t go wrong with Bonne Maman and they have so many jams to pick from!

Simple Syrup
I always make my own simple syrup because it takes like basically no time at all and it’s way cheaper than buying it. All you do is boil equal parts water and sugar, stir until it dissolves, and let cool.
Lemon Juice
If it’s not fresh, we don’t want it!
Tips for Making the Best Greek Yogurt Gin Smash
- You really do need a fine mesh sieve for this cocktail to strain out all the jam and yogurt solids so you get the best, smoothest gin smash possible.
- Be patient when straining the cocktail into your glass. You can use a spoon to smoosh the liquid through the sieve, or tap gently on the side of the sieve to jiggle all the liquid through.
- Choose a jam with as few added ingredients as possible. You want a natural one that will mix well with the other ingredients.
- Make sure all of your ingredients are super cold before adding to the shaker.

Why You’ll Love This Greek Yogurt Gin Smash
- Great for spring and summer cocktail parties or brunch.
- It’s fresh and fruity. Using jam is a unique way to make a fruity cocktail.
- As far as cocktails go, it’s actually got some health benefits going for it with the protein from the yogurt and the fruity jam.
- The pink color also makes it the perfect cocktail for Valentine’s Day or a Galentine’s Day celebration.

Any chance I could sub out the simple and jam for a fruit puree syrup in a pinch?
yes absolutely! I think the fruit puree syrup will give you the right amount of tartness (the jam would give) and sweetness the syrup would give! I say yes try it!! Adjust sweetness to your preference!
