Tropical Tequila Banana's Recipe
As you may know, I’ve worked with El Mayor in the past on some delicious Fall recipes. Now, it was time to bring back to summertime cocktails and create some new drinks! Starting with a perfect summertime cocktail, I created the Tequila Banana’s. This is one of my ALL time favorites and newest go to's. The homemade banana simple syrup makes this cocktail the perfect summertime refresher. Using El Mayor tequila Reposado helps give this cocktail layers of delicious flavors that will most likely leave you having a couple.
Ingredients:
2 oz Pineapple Juice
¾ oz Lime Juice
1 oz Coconut Milk
¾ oz Banana Simple Syrup*
Instructions:
In a cocktail shaker add tequila, pineapple juice, lime juice, coconut milk and simple syrup.
Add ice and shake.
Strain into a glass filled with ice.
Garnish with a pineapple leaf and lime wheel.
Banana Simple Syrup*
Add 1 Cup Water and 1 Cup Sugar into a medium pot.
Add 1 banana chopped.
Put on medium high heat and bring to a boil.
Stir until sugar dissolves and bring to a simmer for 10 minutes.
Take off the heat, let sit for at least 15 minutes and strain.
I cannot stress this enough, the homemade banana simple syrup really helps to elevate this cocktail. With it, it’s a perfect combination of flavors that is not only refreshing, but really easy to drink! Don’t forget, syrup is easy - it’s equal parts water and sugar and you add in 1 chopped banana. easy as that!
