Grasshopper Cocktail

Say hello to the Grasshopper. One of my favorites this time of year and perfectly green for St. Patty’s.
The grasshopper was created back in 1918 by Philibert Guichet during a cocktail competition in NYC. surprisingly, it placed 2nd place during the competition. Philibert brought this cocktail back to his hometown of New Orleans to his bar Tujagues where it is still on the menu today.
Though this is not the original recipe, this recipe is easy & of course extremely tasty.
1 oz Heavy Cream
1 oz Creme de Menthe
1 oz Creme de Cacao
Optional* float of brandy on top
Garnish: chocolate shavings
Add heavy cream, creme de menthe, and creme de cacao into a cocktail shaker.
Add ice and shake.
Strain into a coupe glass.
Garnish with fresh chocolate shavings and a mint leaf.
