We are talking with Global Bartending Champ, Cocktail Consultant, Spirits Expert, Cocktail Judge, and all-around great human, Kaitlyn Stewart of Like-a-ble Cocktails. Kaitlyn shares her story, some of her tips and tricks, as well as what she looks for when judging cocktail competitions. Oh… we talk about the Paper Plane too!

This is an equal parts cocktail, so if you got a big glass, up it to 1 oz each.

What do I need?

Coupe Glass
-
Tin-on-tin Cocktail Shaker
-
Jigger
-
Strainer: Hawthorne & fine mesh strainer

Bourbon
-
Amaro Nonino
-
Aperol
-
Lemons
-
Ice
-
Mini paper plane
How do I make it?
Chill your coupe glass
In your shaker add
-
¾ oz – Bourbon (90 proof – 100 proof) – if using lower proof, up the amount of bourbon
-
¾ oz – Amaro Nonino (Amaro Montenegro works here too)
-
¾ oz – Aperol
-
¾ oz – Lemon juice (fresh)
-
Ice
SHAKE!!!! For 20 seconds
Double strain into your chilled coupe glass
Garnish with a mini-paper plane
Meet Kaitlyn:
She is a Global Bartending Champion. In 2017, she was the first Canadian to win the prestigious Diageo World Class Global Bartender Of The Year Title. Since taking home the title, she has been traveling the world giving seminars on spirits & hospitality. Doing po up bars at some of the worlds best bars and judging international bartending competitions
Kaitlyn has been in the hospitality industry for18 years. Working at a variety of award winning restaurants and bars. She has written numerous cocktail menus and has consulted on several projects both locally and internationally.
Most recently, Kaitlyn has developed her own consulting and education platform, Like-a-ble Cocktails. You can find her on Tick Tock, Instagram, YouTube & Pinterest, educating the masses.
