Uncle Brad’s Recipe

What do I need?

  • Bourbon - one that you like - Elijah Craig is fantastic choice if you need a recommendation

  • Campari (trying Amaro for this)

  • Sweet vermouth, in this case again (going with Dolin Rouge and Punta Mes)

  • Mixing glass

  • Hawthorn strainer (the spring)

  • Bar spoon

  • Double Rocks glass

  • Ice (big ice cubes if you can)

How do I make it?

Place double rocks glass in the freezer

In mixing glass add:

  1. Ice (large chunks if you have them - fridge ice is fine)

  2. 2oz bourbon

  3. .75oz campari

  4. .75oz sweet vermouth

Give it a 20 - 30 second stir

Grab your double rocks, add big chunk of ice

Using Hawthorn strainer, strain cocktail into double rocks glass

Garnish with orange peel, give it a little squeeze to express the oils, rub the rim of the glass and place in drink

LET THE DRINK MELLOW for a minute or two before drinking
