Welcome to the episode 45 of The Art of Drinking with Join Jules and Your Favorite Uncle with special guests Jeff Rogers and Spencer Young from Dashfire

What are we drinking?

In this episode we talk to Jeff Rogers and Spencer Young from Dashfire. Dashfire is a distillery and Cocktail room, named Elusive, located in Northeast Minneapolis. Dashfire specializes in (amazing) bitters, fantastic spirits and amari, but they also broke the code on making outstanding canned cocktails that you’d think came right from the bartenders mixing glass. In today’s episode we get to know the distillers, the history behind bitters, and the Trinidad sour. Be curious, not judgemental

Tip: How to choose your bitters

Family business

Started in 2013 by Founder Lee Egbert

Dashfire is a family business run by Lee and Dawn Egbert. What started with bitters has expanded into cocktails, spirits, and coffees. Dawn provides the operations and financial expertise while Lee guides the graphics and flavor design.

Lee is driven by an unending curiosity coupled with an appetite for travel and a desire to learn all he can about the flavors and spices of different cultures.  Lee lived abroad in China for a year and a half and has also traveled extensively in Thailand, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Mexico, Germany, Guatemala, and Belize, where he had the opportunity to learn first-hand about local herbs and spices as well as spirits and food.

The inspiration for all Dashfire products is drawn from these experiences and flavors. We use them to create the very best bitters, cocktails, and coffees while honoring the varied tastes and cultural experiences they bring to each and every sip.
